As on all other cruise ships, the Norwegian Jade features two main dining rooms that are able to accommodate a large number of guests at any one time. These are the Grand Pacific and the Alizar, but the Grand Pacific is the larger of the two. In spite of this it does tend to fill up faster because most cruisers are still accustomed to a set time for dinner at sea. If you want to dine at a specific time, you should make a reservation, but you are also welcome to walk in for dinner. These restaurants are also open for breakfast and lunch.
The menu features different selections on every night of the cruise and accommodations can be made for those with special dietary needs. There are always light selections to choose from if you are watching your weight. There are also special menus for children, who undoubtedly wouldn’t even want to taste some of the delectable selections offered in a five course meal. Paige’s Italian Kitchen offers the traditional Italian cuisine that you have come to expect on a cruise and at the low price of $10 per person, you certainly won’t go away hungry. You can even create your own pizza and pasta dishes and choose from a variety of sauces. If you are in the mood for a good old steak, this is the specialty of the house at Cagney’s Steakhouse where a $25 meal is fit for royalty. It starts off with a salad and if you don’t want steak, there is poultry, pork and other selections to choose from. The Cagney’s fries are one item that you just have to try. Asian cuisine is on the menu at the Jasmine Garden where the main menu is decidedly Chinese. If you prefer Japanese cuisine, then Teppanyaki’s is the choice for you. The signature eatery on the Norwegian Jade is the Le Bistro, which serves French cuisine. Feel as if you are seated in a restaurant in Paris as you taste the delicious chocolate fondue and crepe suzettes. The Blue Lagoon is another sit down restaurant that is open 24 hours a day so you can drop in for a meal whenever you choose. Have something from the Grill as you sit by the pool or enjoy a delightful buffet in the Garden Cafe and the use of the specialty coffee maker is free of charge. |
