The Norwegian Gem features a wide range of standard cabins, both inside and outside cabins, which have either a balcony or a large picture window. The outside cabins measure about 160 square feet, while the inside cabins are a little smaller at 140 square feet. They are beautifully decorated and all feature a large screen TV, a mini-fridge and a couch or small chairs. There is an ensuite in each one so you don’t have to share a bathroom with another cabin, although you may only have a shower rather than a tub/shower combination. There are hairdryers provided and the cabins are equipped with wireless Internet access and have facilities for making tea and coffee.

Families can stay together when they cruise on the Norwegian Gem with 278 of the cabins being interconnecting. There are also many cabins with private balconies that are not as expensive as you may think. The balconies are all furnished with patio furniture where you can lounge on the chairs to take in the sun or have a meal at the table.



If you really want to have a truly memorable cruising experience on the Norwegian Gem, book a garden villa or one of the suites. There are many options in larger accommodations, such as mini-suites, penthouses, owners’ suites and garden villas. The garden villa measures about 5000 square feet and sleep 10 in three bedrooms, each of which has its own bathroom, living and dining areas and a private courtyard with a hot tub. There are two of such villas on the top deck of the ship. The living room even contains a grand piano.

Whatever type of suite or cabin you have on the Norwegian Gem, the mini-bar in the room can be stocked with your favourites. All you have to do is tell the staff what you would like and you will have it in a flash. All the beds have memory foam mattresses and the softest linens to assure you of a good night’s sleep. In the bathrooms, the shower and toilet facilities are separate rooms divided by the sink and vanity. Room service is available so that you can dine in your room when you want and have breakfast in bed if you have had a late night.
